Unemployment Figures???.

Like I’ve said before, in the UK,’democracy is a mask for dictatorship!’
How to be a politician: Behave as if the law doesn’t apply to you, and then when you get caught doing something illegal you can then change the law, so that it’s not illegal, and make it retrospective so that it applies even before it was made, then it’s like you never really broke the law in the first place…..

Now her government wants to rush through a law to make it legal, without proper scrutiny. A Snooper: This woman has been allowing police and security services to monitor your phone and Internet communications – illegally. Now her government wants to rush through a law to make it legal, without proper scrutiny.

No matter what Nick Clegg might say, the Coalition government will be reintroducing – and rushing into effect – Theresa May’s long-cherished Snooper’s Charter on Monday.

This is her plan to ride roughshod over your right to privacy by requiring telecommunications companies to keep a complete record of all of your telephone and Internet communications. While the Data Retention and Investigatory Powers Bill does not include the content of the calls or messages, it does include the location of the people called, the date and time of the call and the telephone number called.

Theresa May’s Snooper’s Charter would have called on telecoms firms to record the time, duration, originator and recipient of every…

To be honest I’m starting to have grave concerns over the Secretary of State for Work & Pension’s state of health.

In a recent Daily Mail article to which we will not link, Iain Duncan Smith has had yet another angry turn.  It comes as yet another damning report over his ill fated welfare reforms lands on his desk.  It’s becoming a bizarre and quite worrying behavioural trait for Smith to lash out in angry outbursts as he springs to the defence of his fast failing reforms.

On this occasion, a 22 page report by United Nations poverty ‘ambassadors’ has led an attack on the Coalition’s welfare reforms.   Smith has apparently reacted furiously to the ‘absurd and unwarranted intervention’ and retorted in his usual self protective style by saying the report was ‘riddled with faulty logic’.   He rambles on to…

The UK government is risking “systematic violation” of international human rights law in its treatment of disabled people, charities claim.
Britain is a signatory to a binding UN convention on the rights of people with disabilities, and the international covenant on economic, social and cultural rights. Austerity measures and welfare reforms such as the bedroom tax mean the rights of disabled people to independent living, work, and social security have been undermined, causing significant hardship, say campaigners.
A report published by Just Fair, a consortium of 80 national charities including Amnesty International, Save the Children, and Oxfam, says the UK is in clear breach of its legal obligations. Support structures for many disabled people have disappeared or are under threat as local authorities cut social care budgets, while cuts to benefits will leave many disabled people without…

Two more stories here from local newspapers about the inhumane treatment and incompetence by DWP

1) A WOMAN left on crutches by a leg operation has complained that she has no money as Jobcentre staff say she is fit to work.

Pamela Johnson, 56, of Broomside, in Ferryhill, underwent an operation last October which left her unable to carry on working in a fish and chip shop.

Miss Johnson began claimed benefits and said that Jobcentre bosses have now told her to sign on at Spennymoor to claim £57 Jobseekers’ Allowance each fortnight.

She is also angry that the staff in Spennymoor Jobcentre deemed her to be fit to work.

She said: “I had a medical and the Department for Works and Pensions (DWP) said that my money would stop…

“This particular Secretary of State, along with his Department, is pushing people through [the] cracks and hoping that the rest of the country will not notice that they have disappeared.” – Glenda Jackson MP, June 30, 2014.

Yesterday’s Parliamentary debate on the performance of the Department for Work and Pensions under Iain Duncan Smith was more like a trial, with witnesses lining up to condemn the accused.

If the man this blog likes to call RTU (Returned To Unit) thought he would be able to show that his behaviour had improved, he was sorely mistaken – as the comment above illustrates.

It is vital that this information reaches the general public despite the apparent news blackout, in the mainstream media, of any disparaging information about Duncan Smith or his DWP.

But we were discussing the debate as a trial. Let us first look at the evidence in favour of the…

This is what happened when a friend of Vox Political, going by the monicker Sick Britain, contacted the BBC to ask why there has been no coverage of today’s (June 21) anti-austerity demonstration in London, which was attended by more than 50,000 people.

The BBC has mentioned the demonstration – as a pretext for a discussion of government austerity policies on Any Questions and Any Answers (both on Radio 4) but the national public service broadcaster’s news bulletins were mysteriously silent about it throughout the day of the event itself.

This seems particularly odd when one considers the fact that the demo began outside Broadcasting House, and that I’m told extra security guards were on duty today, while the entrances were protected with metal fencing.

Some of you may wish to complain to the BBC about its lack of coverage. Here’s how you can do it:

Pride's Purge

(not satire – it’s G4S!)

G4S are back!

The disgraced firm – which failed to provide enough security guards for London’s 2012 Olympics and is under investigation by the Serious Fraud Office for irregularities connected with other government contracts – has been given massive new contracts by the coalition government to implement new programmes for the long-term unemployed:

G4S back in favour at Whitehall

These contracts come after G4S also memorably mistakenly tagged a prisoner’s false leg so he was able to leave it at home and break a court-imposed curfew:

Prisoner escaped curfew after G4S mistakenly tagged his false leg!

And G4S were also responsible for this, erm, interesting scandal:

G4S Guards Sacked For Drinking Vodka Out Of Each Others’ Bottoms……

Just what is it about G4S that makes the government so keen to hand over millions of our tax money despite their proven and consistent incompetence at just about everything they try to do?
